Our annual Auction for Access is virtual again for 2021! As a result of the ongoing pandemic, we are taking the necessary precautions to protect our patrons. As much as we will miss sharing space with all of our supporters in person, we hope you will join us and participate in this year’s online Auction for Access!
General Information
The Fall 2021 auction will consist of two primary components: an ongoing silent auction and a live auction event.
The silent auction is similar to Ebay. Items will appear directly on the IAAF website with all bidding occurring online. Silent auction items will open for bidding on Saturday, October 2nd and remain open until 4:00pm Saturday, October 9th. Our live auction finale will kick off at 7:30pm on Saturday, October 9th.
The live auction is our opportunity to engage communally, have some fun, and support the IAAF mission. The live auction will occur virtually over Zoom. Supporters can connect via any device supporting the Zoom app, including Android, iPhone, PCs, and Macs.

Virtual Live Auction
Participation in the Live Auction requires all patrons to pre-register for the event online. As our biggest fundraiser of the year, a free-will donation is encouraged, but not mandatory–be sure to check out the swag packages available with donation when you register! Registrations allow IAAF to establish a guest list prior to the event and organize private Zoom meeting invitations. Prior to the event you’ll receive an email with more details regarding the virtual event.

Online Silent Auction
Beginning October 2nd, a number of gift baskets and other items will be available in our web store. Supporters will be able to bid on those items all week prior to the live event. The silent auction will close at 4PM on October 9th. Highest bid takes the item! For more details on how the bidding process works, see the FAQ section below.

Do I really need to register?
-Your registration allows us to send you the access link to our live auction finale! Registrations will also serve as our “guest list” so you can be sure to receive pre-event reminder emails. There is no cost to register, unless you choose to make a free-will donation.
How do I watch the live auction finale?
-The finale will be hosted on Zoom, so once you register and receive your access link, you can tune in using any device with the Zoom app or an internet browser.
What is the live finale all about?
-The live event will feature a number of hosts, including Iowa Abortion Access Fund board members and supporters sharing successes from the year and stories of impact, as well as an emcee who will run the live auction and your final chance to bid on our exciting packages!
How do I bid on a silent auction item?
-The silent auction will be based out of our online shop. From the shop, you can easily browse all available items and place a bid. The process is exceptionally similar to other online auction sites. Select the item you wish to bid on and then bid any amount higher than the present auction value. When submitting a bid, you will be prompted to set a maximum bid. This is the maximum you are presently willing to bid. The website will automatically bid on your behalf to the maximum amount. Should you still be outbid, the system will automatically email you a notification providing you with time to update your maximum bid. After you place your first bid, we recommend checking your email to ensure your bidding updates and reminders don’t end up in your spam folder! Should you win the auction, you’ll receive another email with instructions on payment.
What if I’m not available on Saturday for the live finale?
-That’s okay, you can stay involved all week long by bidding on your favorite silent auction items on our website!
